To stick with social tradition, shall we start with a handshake and an introduction?
Hello, I'm Donna. I like to buy nice things for a pittance, and turn shite into gold. I'm a big fan of eating well on a budget, and finding innovative uses for crap. I'm a Yankee living in England, I have a supa-star hubby and 6-year-old son, and when I'm not looking for bargains to live fabulously, I run a graphic design studio (shameless plug: Pomelo Creative).
I started Budget Fabulous as a hub for the 'lifestyle-conscious' who want to live well but not spend a small fortune. Not even a tiny fortune. Heck, the word 'fortune' won't even be involved here.
In no particular order, let me introduce my budget fab partners in crime.
Becca (whom I must add has always made me jealous with her budget fabulousness), is also a transplanted Yankee. She nests on a magical scrap of land in a cute Washington, USA town. She has a passion for Haagan Daz, sea salt, turning tea towels into curtains, painting her own toenails, and discovering her newly-found Jedi-like abilities. She feeds her adventures by working for an airline, teaching Yoga, and riding on the back of her husband's motorcycle. Her thriftiness was sparked at a young age, upon watching her tight-fisted Scottish Nana turn an orange towel into a new beak for her favourite childhood toy duck, Buchey. Partner in crime numero dos is Emma, or as I call her, 'my little pocket Emmer'.
Yeah, long story - it involves a doll-sized replica of Emma that I can keep in my pocket to ask advice of whenever I need it. She is the queen of advice - and good advice. Fabulous advice even. That applies to budget fabulous advice as well. Emma lives near me in jolly ol' England with her hubby and 2 boys, and holds a glamourous day-job as an Email Marketing Manager at a company that throws £36,000 parties for their employees. Seriously. Another shameless plug - her side project is gorgeously delicious wedding stationery: Joosi Design.
So there you have it, the Budget Fabulous crew! Feel free to get in touch with any comments or questions, we'd love to hear from you.
